Bad Moon and Steely Blue were inspired by the art of young children, and these two pieces reflect a child's perception of being the center of the world. They also illustrate a child's ability to be unhindered by the self-consciousness and self-editing that people are conditioned to adopt, as they get older.
In both pieces I sought to capture a child’s sense of immediate inspiration and desire to tell their story, as seen through their eyes. I used watercolor pencils and watercolors to create the free, fluid movement and emotional color with which children often use in their images.
Bad Moon was exhibited in The Child In You group exhibit at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago.
